MAD has constructed a floating roof around a siheyuan that has historical records dating back to 1725.While protecting and utilizing the cultural relics,it also connects with the surrounding modern buildings,presenting a harmonious coexistence of multiple layers of urban history.

The“floating roof”spreads out horizontally in a low and gentle manner,maximizing the transformation of the limited space between different buildings into a platform for outdoor sports and activities.The second floor is a vast,colorful outdoor platform,which serves as the main area for children's outdoor sports and extracurricular interactive play.On the southwest side of the platform,the terrain undulates like a series of“hills”and“plains”interlacing with each other.
